Let’s be honest: no one really likes cleaning the bathroom. However, the reality is that it has to be done. The good news is that there are some clever tricks to make the process easier. Here are a few helpful hacks that will make cleaning the bathroom (slightly) more bearable.
1. Use baby oil on your faucets
2. Apply nail polish to rusty cans
Do you have any rusty shaving cans causing guck to develop around your sink or in your showers? Put an end to this unsightly mess by applying clear nail polish to the bottom of the can. This will keep the bottom from corroding and leaving nasty brown mess behind.
3. Attach a magnetic strip to your wall
Do you find that you’re always finding bobby pins and tweezers scattered all over your drawers or cabinets? Give these small but vital personal care items a proper home by attaching a magnetic strip to your wall.
4. Clean your showerhead with vinegar
Many of us avoid cleaning our nasty showerheads because we see it as too much of a pain. The process is actually simple: all you have to do is fill a plastic bag with white vinegar and then wrap it around the head with a rubber band. Leave the bag around the shower head for a few hours and it should look like brand new!
5. Clean your bathtub with grapefruit
Looking for a more natural way to clean your bathtub’s grime? Try cutting up a grapefruit! Take a grapefruit half and sprinkle it with salt. Wet your tub and then salt the surface. Use the grapefruit as a scraper and run it along the entire surface of the tub.
Rinse out all the residue and you’ll have a tub that looks practically new.
6. Drop Alka-Seltzer to clear your drain
Put away the Draino! Drop four Alka-Seltzer tablets down the drain, then pour a cup of white vinegar down there as well. Wait for about 10 minutes and then rinse with boiling water. While this won’t clear serious blockages, it will clear most common household clogs.
7. Make a toilet roll deodorizer
Are you finding that the fan just isn’t doing the trick? Grab a bottle of essential oils and add it to the inside of your toilet paper roll. This will ensure that your bathroom will have a consistent stream of freshness without much hassle.
8. Trim the bottom of your curtain liner
9. Clean your windows with dryer sheets
10. Build a cleaning drill
